Till March 23 of 2017-2018 fiscal year, the border trade value hit US$ 8.27 billion, a 8.22-per-cent increase, compared with the same period last year, according to the Commerce Ministry.
In the previous fiscal year, the border trade value amounted to US$ 7.59 billion, according to the figures released by the Commerce Ministry.
Yan Naing Tun, director-general of the Trade Department at the Commerce Ministry said: “This year’s border trade value is expected to be greater than that of last year.
Exports accounted for over US$ 5.38 billion and imports for over US$ 2.89 billion.
External trade during this fiscal year has increased by over 13.5 per cent, compared with the same period last year.
