The Ministry of Construction and China Harbour Engineering Co Ltd have signed a memorandum of understanding on feasibility study to implement projects of Mandalay-Htigyait-Muse expressway and Kyaukphyu-Nay Pyi Taw highway, according to sources from the Ministry of Information.
The MoU signing ceremony took place at the Construction Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on March 6.
Union Minister for Construction Han Zaw attended the event, and Road Transport Department director general Ohn Lwin and Yang Lu, authorised representative in Myanmar from the Chinese company, singed the MoU on feasibility study to implement the projects.
According to a statement released by the Information Ministry, the agreement signing will help improve road transport and facilitate commodity flow, thus contributing to regional development.
The ceremony was also attended by Economic and Commercial Counsellor Xie Guoxiang from the Chinese embassy.
