2018 Myanmar Entrepreneurs Carnival, the first of its kind in the country, was held for two days on February 3 and 4 at Myanmar Institute of Information Technology in Mandalay Region.
"In the past we ran businesses in a traditional way. These days, businesses based on technology have emerged. We need such businesses at a time when the country is promoting the services sector in the effort for economic development. There must be manufacturing businesses based on technology. We must welcome them. We are also responsible for those businesses because they are mostly run by young entrepreneurs. I believe they are building the future of our country. The Mandalay Region government has to render all necessary assistance to young businesspeople," said Mandalay Region Chief Minister Dr Zaw Myint Maung.
Myanmar Entrepreneurs Carnival was organised by Mandalay Region Young Entrepreneurs Association (MRYEA) with the aim of create close connections between the local entrepreneurs.
"Let young people create good business ideas. It should not be so that they cannot work without investment. This is the programme in which large businesses encourage and help young businesspeople. The carnival was first held in Mandalay. There will be more job opportunities if young entrepreneurs emerge. If the quality of young businesspeople increases, national economy will grow as well," said Thidar San, vice chairperson of MRYEA.
