6,685 jade lots and 190 gem lots for sale through open tender

The sale of jade and gems takes place in Nay Pyi Taw.
 
The 2017 Mid-Year Myanma Gems Emporium will put up 6,685 jade lots and 190 gems lots for sale through open tender, a source of Central Committee for Holding Myanma Gems Emporium said.
 
“ We now have only one tender system. Each of the 1,150 lots will be sold for five days. The remaining 935 lots will be sold within a day. We will sell jade and gems for six days,” Than Zaw Oo, member of Central Committee for Holding Myanma Gems Emporium, said.
 
The jade lots will be shown from December 12 to 15. The sales are fixed from December 16 to 21. The basic price of uncut jade lots is fixed at 4,000 euros. The basic price of the cut jade lots is fixed at 1,000 euros. 
 
Among the uncut jade lots, each of 18 uncut jade lots is above 1 million euros of basic price. The highest basic price for one of two uncut jade lots is fixed at 5.8 million euros.
 
Gem lots will be shown from December 12 to 14. The sales are fixed on December 15. The gem lots are fixed at 500 Euro. 
 
“The highest-price lot is sapphire. Its flooring price is at 380,000 euros. It will be sold by the open tender system,” assistant general manager Hla Aung, Secretary of Central Committee for Holding Myanma Gems Emporium, said.
 
We expect to realise nearly 300 million euros from the sales of jades and gems, Than Zaw Oo said.
 

A total of 1,219 foreign merchants are on the tender list. There are 2,757 merchants from China, 19 from Thailand, three from Macao, one from Canada and 1,219 domestic ones.
